The core Dead Space gameplay seems to be intact but there doesn't appear to be any particularly exciting editions to this entry in the series, other than larger set-pieces, and more explosions and gore. Judging from this gameplay footage, the game doesn't seem to have evolved all that much from Dead Space 2. The Creative Director explains the reason for this change in the video. Certain necromorphs now seem to be able to wield melee weapons and the Lurker necromorphs from Dead Space and Dead Space 2 have been revised and are now based on dogs instead of infants. There were also a few noticeable differences to previous Dead Space games.
